What Grihawise processes, why it is needed and the choices you have.
The website and your home
This policy covers grihawise.in, the Grihawise web app at app.grihawise.in, the mobile and desktop apps, and the API behind them. Contact privacy@grihawise.in with privacy questions or requests.
The public website has a guided demonstration with sample data. The signed-in app stores and works with the household information you provide. Their data flows are different, as explained below.
When you visit this website
The typed conversation and sample actions on the marketing website run in your browser’s memory. This demo does not send your typed requests to a Grihawise server or a live language model. The website does not intentionally save the demo conversation after you leave or reload it.
Vercel serves the website and may process technical request data, including IP address, browser information, requested URLs and timestamps, to deliver and secure the service. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives the requests needed to serve those fonts. If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to include.
The marketing website does not include advertising pixels or analytics scripts. It stores only your optional animation preference in this tab’s session storage. See Cookies & storage for the details.
Information used by the app

Grihawise does not read your entire mailbox or SMS history. Only receipts, emails or messages you choose to import, forward or relay are provided through those features. We do not collect advertising identifiers or request access to your contacts or precise device location.
Voice, AI and automatic actions
On this website: the sample assistant is text-only and runs in your browser’s memory. It does not access your microphone or use a speech service.
In the app: audio you submit is sent to the API for transcription. The current transcription implementation uses a temporary file that is removed after processing. Transcribed text can be kept in your assistant conversation. Clearing a conversation does not undo household actions that were already completed.
The app sends requests, relevant conversation history and household context to its configured model provider. Receipt interpretation may also send an image or extracted document text. Supported configurations include OpenAI, Anthropic, other compatible providers or a self-hosted model. Provider retention and data-use terms depend on the service and configuration in use; contact us for the current provider details.
Assistant requests can update your household’s records. Imported receipts and payment alerts are presented for review before being recorded. Recording an expense or marking a staff payment as paid is a bookkeeping action, not a transfer of money.
How long information stays
App information is retained to provide your account and household features until it is deleted or no longer needed. Technical logs are retained for up to 30 days under our current policy. Account deletion requests are handled within 30 days, with deleted data rolling off backups within a further 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirement.
Deleting your account removes your personal account. An account and its households are deleted where you are the last owner; shared accounts with another owner may remain for those members. The website demo itself is held in page memory. Your animation preference lasts for the browser tab’s session. Service providers may have their own retention periods.
Protecting your home’s information
Connections to the service use TLS. Hosting providers supply encryption at rest, and passwords are hashed with Argon2. The app uses short-lived access tokens and rotating refresh tokens. Household access is checked by the API.
No service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account credentials and household forwarding or relay keys private. Regenerate a household’s inbound email address or SMS relay key if it has been exposed, and contact us about suspected unauthorised access.
Your choices and requests
- Edit or delete records using the controls available in the app.
- Export spending as CSV or PDF from Money, or contact us about a broader copy of your information.
- Delete your account from Settings or send an account deletion request by email. Use the address associated with your account, but never send your password.
- Stop forwarding or relaying messages by removing your email rule or phone automation. Regenerate the relevant key or address to invalidate old credentials.
- Turn off notifications or microphone access through your device or browser settings.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent, or complain to an appropriate authority. These rights are subject to applicable conditions. Email privacy@grihawise.in; we may need proportionate information to verify your request. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully carried out.
Household members and children
Grihawise is intended for adults managing a home. Do not create an account for a child or enter another person’s information without an appropriate basis and any permission required by law. Keep records about household members, children and staff limited to what is needed. Contact us if information about a child has been provided inappropriately so we can review and address it.
Changes and contact
We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top identifies this version. Material changes will be highlighted here and, where appropriate, in the app before they take effect.
